Racism in buying houses
As we start this journey box, we will first look at a specific example of racism being shown in the area of house buying. In 1957, Willie Mays, a star professional baseball player tried to buy a house in San Francisco California.

- Who actually kept Mays from buying the house?
- Why was Mays denied from buying the house?
- What do you think May's wife meant at the end, in her quote?
