When Racism isn't just People
In the last activity, we looked at how people helped contribute to the wealth gap by not letting other people buy houses in areas because of the color of their skin. This activity, we will look at how this wasn't just done by people, but for a time, legally allowed by the government as well. We are going to look at a 'Graded' map, which contributed so much to the wealth gap by labeling areas/neighborhoods.
Allow students to look around at this site, encouraging them to look into all of the different colors and descriptions. LINK TO FULL MAP
